Chemistry is the scientific study of the composition and properties of matter and the investigation of the laws that govern them. All chemists have a common core of knowledge, learned through a highly structured sequence of undergraduate courses. The B.S. degree is the more intensive professional preparation in chemistry and is offered with optional tracks in biochemistry and in polymer chemistry.
